Grace and Elegance: Schubert 5

  • Recital Hall West, Sydney Conservatorium of Music 1 Conservatorium Road Sydney, NSW, 2000 Australia (map)

A unique and intimate concert with ensemble nouveau, presenting some of the most graceful and elegant symphonic music for orchestra. The program begins with Haydn's 6th symphony, "Le Matin", an early work in symphonic repertoire, and finishes with Schubert's 5th symphony, known colloquially as "the one without trumpets and timpani".

In between, hear Sydney Conservatorium of Music student Ben Tjoa perform Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 4 in D, and a new work by talented composer Sarah Elise Thompson, who is also currently studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
